The Empty Nest

Here I sit in my empty nest...a clean empty nest I might add. Now that Gaby is in college I can get down to the business of cleaning her rooms. I'm coming across toys from when she was a child and I can't help but get a pang of motherhood in my chest. I know I said I wouldn't have the "syndrome" but I do.

I'm feeling well physically and aside from mild symptoms of Raynauds and joint pain, my prognosis looks good. My rhuematologist retired a month ago so I'll have a new doctor...another one to train...LOL. I'm told she doesn't know anything about stem cell transplants so I will have to educate her.

My recent operation went well and I'm fully healed from that (which is a small miracle unto itself). Now to avoid the flu this fall and I'm set. Bob is doing great. He just got a clean bill of health from his doctor...no more cancer! We continue to take care of each other as best we can. These are good days.

Love,
Victoria
